Volleyball

Volleyball is a myriad of specific and technical skills that requires highly repetitive activity of the dominant side of the body. Unfortunately repetitive activity, such as a high velocity volleyball swing, promotes muscular and skeletal imbalance, not only in the shoulders, but the hips and knees as well. Injuries can easily result when muscular imbalance between the left and right sides of the body becomes significant because bone position and joint congruence are effected. Consultation with a PRI trained therapist at the Hruska Clinic will address the underlying postural discord that is promoting faulty mechanics and various pain patterns. Athletes will learn how to implement postural restoration activities into their training regimens so their pain patterns resolve. Athletes will be discharged with a specific set of dynamic activities that are designed, based on their individual mechanical tendencies, to help them maintain appropriate muscular and skeletal balance for the long term.
